About Us

South Manheim Township is a second-class township located in the south-central portion of Schuylkill County. The Township was incorporated in 1845 and consists of approximately 20.7 square miles of land area. The 2016 census recorded 2514 residents. The major State road in the Township is PA Route 895, which connects with PA 183 to the west and PA 61 to the east. The Township is served by a three-member governing board and is considered a “bedroom community” whose primary industry has historically been agriculture, however there are residential developments throughout. Part of the Schuylkill Haven School District, South Manheim Township is a beautiful, quiet, rural community with just the right agriculture to residential mix for quality living for today‘s family.
